Congrats Uncle Reid!

Chad and four of his college fraternity brothers have remained really close and this past weekend we had the privilege of seeing them all at Reid's wedding.  We are so happy for Reid and Jessica and were honored to be part of their wedding.  Aunt Sis went along with us and helped babysit Abigail during the rehearsal dinner Friday night.  It has been a long time since everyone was together and three babies have been added to the group.  Abigail got to meet her new friends Hudson Nitsch and Charlie Lancaster.  She was also formally introduced to Uncle John, Uncle Nick, and Uncle Matt (she had already met Uncle Reid once) as well as Mrs. Margaret and Mrs. Marcie.  We had such a good time and already can't wait for Matt's wedding in September.  What will we do when all of the weddings are over????

5 Months!

Hi, it's Abigail again for my monthly post.  Sorry I am a little bit behind, but I've been pretty busy these days.  Being five months old is a full time job, but I'm enjoying it all (if you can't tell from my frog pictures).  Daddy led a family retreat a few weekends ago for our church and I got to go too.  It was my first visit to Camp Dawson and I was able to scope it out for the Thanksgiving family reunion I keep hearing about.  I went ahead and reserved my bunk, but don't worry Joshua, I saved you one too!  I also enjoyed playing with Me-Mommy and D-Daddy that weekend when they were in town while Mommy and Daddy went to a wedding.

I am getting better and better with these so called "solid" foods.  The baby food is okay for now, but I am more interested in what Mommy and Daddy are eating.  One of these days I'm going to just grab a bite off one of their plates while their not looking.  Don't they know it's rude to eat in front of someone and not offer them any?

I am really looking forward to this coming week.  I get to hang out with Joshua for the whole week!!!  Mommy, Nana, and Aunt Mil are taking me and Joshua to meet our great grandparents who live in South Carolina.  Joshua, I have just two words for you...ROAD TRIP!  I am sure Mommy will post all kinds of pictures when we get back.  For now, enjoy this picture of me in my new shades welcoming in the summer weather.

Dear GG,

Happy Birthday!!!  I hope you've had a great day.  I'm sad I didn't get to see you in person but got my Mommy and Daddy to take these pictures to post for you.  They tried and tried and tried to get a good picture of me holding the sign and smiling, but I was more interested in eating the paper than sitting still.  I look forward to seeing you again soon and love you very much!

On a Mission

Abigail participated in her first ever mission trip this past weekend.  Chad took a group of senior adults from our church to work at Mission First in Jackson, MS.  Abigail and I drove over for the weekend as well and took advantage of the opportunity to stay with Coach and Nana.  While the senior adults worked hard cleaning and painting, Abigail served as more of a supervisor.  In fact, you can see her reaction below at the thought of having to work at all.  She lost it as soon as they handed her the paper towel roll.  I think she was worried about messing up her hair or outfit.  

Abigail sure does love her Daddy and hopes he'll take her on another mission trip soon.

I'm a mess!

Abigail seems to be enjoying the adventures of new foods.  In addition to rice cereal, she has tried and liked carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, green beans, and bananas.  She's getting better at keeping more of it in her mouth too.  The picture below is of the first attempt at carrots, obviously before her recent improvement.  

Nana gave Abigail the awesome shirt she is wearing below.  The warning on it is very serious and the threat of calling Nana is present 24/7.  The only rule Nana gave her was that she was not allowed to call her to tattle on her Mommy or Daddy.  What Mommy and Daddy says, goes...but everyone else is fair game.

Our little bunny wanted to wish everyone a very happy Easter.  It's been a beautiful day in Birmingham and we enjoyed church and our lunch with family.  Here are some pictures of our day.

4 Months!

Hi, my name is Abigail and I am 4 months old!  I weigh 12 pounds and 11 ounces and measure 24 1/4 inches.  This has been an awesome month for me and I have learned a few new tricks.  I am trying solid foods now but can't really figure out what to do when Mommy brings the spoon to my mouth.  I'd rather lick the food off the spoon rather than putting the whole thing in my mouth.  The food is okay, but the mess I make is even more fun!  

My first bite of rice cereal and applesauce.  Needless to say I was not very excited about it.

After a few bites, I changed my mind and decided it wasn't too bad after all.  

My Mommy has started trying to put these bow things in my hair.  She insists on trying even though they only stay in my hair for about 20 seconds.  I don't understand what the big deal is about the bows, but Mommy says I better get used to it. 

I am also working very hard on my tummy time.  Uncle Christopher and Aunt Jennifer let me borrow this cool tummy time mat.  It looks like a boogie board and I pretend like a am riding a wave at the beach (although I must admit I've never been to the beach or seen a wave).  Somehow, amidst all of my wiggling, I end up on my back.  Mommy and Daddy clap for this, but little do they know, I have no idea how it happens.  Whatever...they are so easily amused.
