7 Months Old!

Can you believe I'm already seven months old?!?!  Me neither!  I'm closer to one year old than not and before you know it you'll be reading my post about my first birthday.  But let's not get too ahead of ourselves.  Let me catch you up on what the seventh month of my life has included.
I need to start with a shout out to my Daddy as we celebrated Father's Day recently.  He's the best!  Daddy can easily make everything better just by walking into the room.  I love spending time with him.  He makes really funny noises and faces just to make me laugh.  Here are a few pictures from our first Father's Day together.  I love you Daddy!

With my seven month birthday came my very first tooth!  That was hard work and Mommy says I have a lot more to go too.  My new tooth seemed to make me a little bit cranky, but I just didn't feel like myself.  Mommy keeps trying to get a picture of my new tooth, but I'm not quite ready to debut my pearly white.  So, just enjoy these two new poses I've been working lately.

I call this one my "You little stinker" face.
And this one is my "I'm so sweet aren't I" pose.

It has been really hot in our town these past few weeks and I have noticed that Mommy doesn't take me on long walks much anymore.  Instead, we've replaced that afternoon activity with backyard swimming.  Having your own personal pool is awesome and I have so much fun splashing and trying to drink the water.  While I miss some of our walks, the pool is a great substitute for now.  Although, Mommy did tell me recently that if we don't start walking again soon I'll never see her in a swim suit again.  Not sure what that means exactly, but I think she is missing our walks too in her own way.

Later this summer me and Mommy and Daddy are going with the rest of the Hunsberger family to the lake for vacation.  Daddy says I'll get to ride a big boat and everything.  One of the boat rules is that I have to wear a life jacket when I'm on the boat so Me-Mommy and D-Daddy got me my very own tiny life jacket.  I tried it on last week and kinda liked it...but only for a few minutes.  It's really hard to move around in it and Mommy said I look like a turtle with it on (not funny Mom).  I'm sure it will be worth wearing it if it means I can ride the boat to and from the pool (as long as Mommy can quit laughing at me in it for five seconds!).
I also tried on and modeled my sun hat for Daddy.  It's yet another thing they tell me I have to wear at the lake.  Between my swim diaper, bathing suit, bathing suit cover up, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and life jacket it sounds like it will take Mommy and Daddy an hour at least to get me dressed for the water.  Let's hope I like the water after all of that work.

In addition to a new tooth, there are a few other perks I have noticed with being a seven month old:

1. My own cell phone - this makes me very happy as I have always tried to get my hands on my Mommy's cell phone.  She finally handed over hers when she got a new one.  I'm sure I'll go for that one next...everyone needs an upgrade right?
2. Getting to ride in the shopping cart like a big girl - I'd had enough of sitting in my car seat at the grocery store.  Sitting in the front now is awesome because I can see a lot better and grab at all sorts of things Mommy doesn't want me to have.  Please excuse the tired looking picture below.  Mommy and Daddy selfishly took me to the store during my nap time because it worked with their schedule better.  Then they had the nerve to ask me to smile for a picture...wasn't going to happen.  Shout out to Nana for making me my own shopping cart cover.  I've already gotten so many nice comments about it and it makes Mommy feel better too since she doesn't have to worry about me chewing on the shopping cart handle.

3. More frequent baths - I am eating all kinds of yummy foods now and love making huge messes at meal times.  It's a win/win for me because I have more fun eating that way and then get to take fun baths too as a result.  My favorites are still the light colored vegetables, followed closely be green vegetables I am starting to warm up to some of the fruits Mommy gives me too.  I'm thinking this new tooth and those that follow my open up new doors for me in the food department...I'll keep you posted.

4. Better sleeping - This is really a perk for me and my parents.  You can probably tell that I am a very busy girl these days.  I have mastered sitting up on my own and love to play on the floor. I never sit still anymore and all of that action makes me very tired.  By the time nap times and bed time roll around, my eyes are rolling back in my head and I'm already drooling.  Mommy drops me in the bed and I typically welcome the chance to catch a few z's.  Mommy loves the longer naps I'm taking.  Don't worry, I'll keep her on her toes and change it up every now and then.  The picture below is of my tired face.  This look means I am ready to snooze.
Until next time!
Love,
Abigail

Play date in Starkville, MS

Abigail and I made a quick trip over to Starkville today to play.  Aunt B casually mentioned that she and Nana were going to spend the day there with Joshua and Aunt Mil, so we decided to crash the party and drive over too.  We had a great time playing, eating lunch at City Bagel Cafe with Uncle Dave, and swimming in the backyard (be sure to scroll down to other posts for those Kodak moments).  We had a great time and were worn out by the end of the day.  Abigail was asleep in the car before we were out of their neighborhood and didn't wake up until we got off the interstate in Birmingham.  What a fun trip!

Keeping Cool

Joshua's Mommy and Daddy recently bought him a backyard pool.  He was kind enough to try it out for the first time with Abigail.  The whole pool experience started out a little rough for both babies and we weren't sure if they were going to like it.  After a little while, they both seemed to enjoy it more.  It will be a great way to beat this 90 plus degree weather we're having.  Abigail is planning on sweet talking her Daddy into getting one for our house too.

P.S. Abigail wanted me to be sure to tell you that she does in fact have two super cute bathing suits.  The pool time was a last minute decision and we hadn't packed her suit.  She was pretty embarrassed, but got over it quickly and embraced the skinny dipping.

Bloopers

As usual, a day with these two together produced a few for the blooper reel.

"You got a little something right there...let me get that for you." JPN

"Hey, this is an A/B conversation so C your way out of it!" AEH

"Up a little bit, to the left, there....you got it. Ahhhhhh" JPN

"WHOAAA! Cold water....a little warning would have been nice Mom." AEH

Bath Time!!!

The two words in the title of this post have become some of the favorites around our house.  Abigail thoroughly enjoys her baths and will play as long as I let her.  I LOVE the smell of a clean baby, so I'm glad she likes it so much.  Enjoy the pictures.

Royalty

Abigail and I are in Jackson visiting my parents and family for the week while Chad is at M-Fuge. Princess Abigail (and me, her maidservant) are getting the royal treatment for sure.
We're having a relaxing week and enjoy being with Coach and Nana. They are letting us sleep late,
play outside, taking us to lunch at the field where the M-Braves play baseball,

and even have an elephant for the Princess to ride!
