9 Months Old!

Hi everyone! I'm back for my nine month post.  That's right, I'm already nine months old!  I can't believe it either.  This month has flown by, and I have definitely been busy.  I hardly ever sit still anymore now that I have mastered my version of crawling.  I can even pull myself up on the furniture now!  It's great because I can get my hands on so many things.  Mommy and Daddy have quickly learned not to leave anything sitting around that they don't want chewed on and mangled.  To celebrate on my nine month birthday, Mommy took me to the park.  It was one of the cooler days we had this month and I loved being outside and swinging.  I could swing all day long!

Some of you may be skeptical of my blogging and doubt that it is really me writing these posts.  Well, to put those rumors to rest I had Mommy document my blogging process this month.  Here is proof that I work really hard on these posts to make sure I get it just right (be advised, no computers were actually harmed in the making of this post).

I have really been growing these past few months and it was time again this week to go see my doctor for a checkup.  Thankfully I only had to get two shots this time and it wasn't too bad.  The doc checked me out and said everything looks good.  He was really impressed with my six teeth....that's right, it's a total of six now.  The teething part hasn't been that fun, but I sure do like the things I can chew on now with my teeth.  This week at the doctor I weighed in at 17 pounds and 9 ounces (27th percentile) and measured 27 1/4 inches long (two whole inches from my last checkup).  In addition to growing so fast, I'm also learning some new tricks.  In the picture below, you'll see that I like to clap sometimes.  I just usually don't do it when Mommy asks me to.

I also like to make fun noises with my mouth.  I do one like the picture below with my hand and my other favorite is to click my tongue.

I have so much to look forward to this next month.  My cousin Madison has her fourth birthday party, I get to spend Labor Day weekend at Coach and Nana's house with my Aunts, Uncle and Cousin, and college football is starting!!!  I can't wait!

Catch you next time!
Love, Abigail

On the Move

Well, it's happened.  Abigail has been "crawling" for a little over a week now.  I say "crawl" because it is really more like a scoot.  She uses both arms and one leg while she drags the other leg.  While unconventional, she has learned to get around pretty efficiently.  We were able to capture her first crawl on video below!

As soon as she learned to crawl, Abigail began exploring.  Within an hour, she had already stuck her hand in the VCR (yes, we still have one of those) and bumped her head on the cabinet.  She now bumps her head an average of three times a day and keeps a lovely red bump somewhere on her forehead at all times.  See the evidence below.

Run for the Son

Abigail and I went to Jackson last weekend to participate in FBCJ's Run for the Son 5K.  It was a beautiful day and we had a great time walking with Coach.

Nana has some pretty cool toys that Abigail enjoyed playing with.  Who needs actual toys when you have tupperware and baskets?  Thanks for the fun weekend Coach and Nana!

Lake Trip 2009

We're back!  We spent this past week on Lake Oconee in Georgia with the Hunsberger family.  We had a great time and enjoyed spending time with everyone.  Abigail loved having playmates and did great throughout the trip.  She endured the boat rides back and forth to the pool and loved playing in the water.  I took a lot of pictures, but just included some of the highlights below.

Madison was a willing guinea pig as we tried out the underwater feature of our camera.

These three enjoyed the water sports together.

Aunt Sis and her girls.

Abigail and Olivia played so well together all week.

Olivia and the windblown look in the pictures above and below.

Playing the Wii (and watching those playing the Wii) provided great entertainment.

Abigail's least favorite part of the trip was putting on sunscreen.  This picture is just after wrestling her to the ground long enough to coat her well.  The resulting hairdo was fun for the rest of us.

If the pool wasn't fun enough, the playground right next to the pool had a swing where Abigail liked to dry off.

We want to send a big Thank You to the Cuenin family for letting the Hunsberger family use your beautiful lake house and boat.  We are so thankful for your friendship!

We can't wait for next year!
